Now, more than ever, today's youth must be ready to compete in a highly competitive world, make career decisions and have the insight to act upon those decisions. Programs in career development, vocational planning, and job-seeking skills have been under-emphasized and have lacked focus in the traditional school setting. Today's youth must be prepared to make critical career decisions.

Often, high school students lack self-esteem given the huge amount of peer pressure they face combined with the responsibility of transition into adulthood. One of our goals is to help students build their confidence so that they will be proud of their skills and accomplishments and feel secure speaking about themselves with poise.

The mission of Success Image is to assist students discover and utilize their skills, personality traits and interests and direct them in the exploration of careers that will offer them satisfaction. Our counselors will help students develop their own "Success Image" while fostering character development, self-esteem and teamwork. To do this, students not only identify their skills but they learn to own and to continually develop these skills, recognizing the transferability of these skills to successful, satisfying careers.

• Through self discovery and assessment, gain an in-depth understanding of skills, interest and personality connecting these with potential career paths.
• This self discovery will develop teamwork and build confidence and create a positive attitude towards the future.
• Through research, discussions and hands on experience students will become familiar with different careers and specific training/education required to succeed in these career paths.
• Learn and practice job search skills and basic business etiquette including, networking, interviewing, presentation skills and dining and dressing for success.
• Develop and understand employers' expectations and learn how to set realistic goals and be accountable for accomplishing them.
• Create a powerful resume, cover letters and thank you notes in addition to properly filling out a job application.
• Students will get hands on work experience through internships in fields they have chosen to explore.
