This program is divided into four areas of development:
Who am I? (Character Awareness)
- Gain an understanding of past personal achievements
- Identify skills and abilities
- Help students understand their preferences for learning and making decisions through the use of individual personality assessments (Myers-Briggs)
- Determine personal interests and how those interest patterns are related to specific careers (Achieved through Individual Interest assessments.)
What do I want to do? (Career Exploration)
- Guidance on how to conduct effective career research
- Identify career options that fit with personal skills and interests
- One-on-One career coaching
- Exposure to careers: field trips to local businesses and colleges; panel discussions
How do I get there? (Plan of Action)
- Learn the importance and art of networking
- Write an effective Resume
- Gain powerful interview skills
- Acquire personal and social competence
- Become skilled at basic business etiquette and appropriate dress for success
- Learn how to research companies and why it is essential before going on interviews
